Vision/Process

"Art is the concrete representation of our most subtle feelings" Agnes Martin

I believe that all moments have the potential to inspire and inform my design work. I find inspiration foraging in the woods for moss and rocks for my garden, browsing around flea markets, swimming in the ocean while searching for turquoise sea glass and making art with my son, Forest.

I am trained as a painter; my early influences were Paul Klee, Gustav Klimt and Agnes Martin. Focusing on form through color, line and texture guides and inspires me in letting go of the literal elements. A subtle shift in color with natural light or strong shadows can lead to a particular mood or emotional reaction; there is grace in finding balance within these carefully chosen details. This process goes beyond what is clearly representational, creating a voice.

I bring this holistic, creative approach to understanding a brand or a client’s needs, drawing on my aesthetic sensibility, professional experience, and research ability. I prioritize effective collaboration to build integral relationships so that we are all working towards the same goals, whether the work is branding, creative direction, or event design. Ultimately, no matter what the project scope is, the process of listening, response and formal creativity remains the same.
